Bocas Butterfly Garden, or “The Butterfly”, is a butterfly garden which is located inside of a natural setting in Bocas Island – just a few minutes from the town by boat. The butterfly garden consists of a closed garden where various species of flowering plants provide hosts for butterflies, while others are ornamental. Here, you will have the opportunity to know the butterflies’ biological cycle, observe the different stages of development of these species, and observe the various species that are handled within the facility. During your visit you can also see our Terrarium which showcases a variety of colors of the Red Frog (Oophaga pumilio) which inhabit the various islands of the Archipelago of Bocas del Toro. The biodiversity of the islands is very unique, and here at Bocas Butterfly Garden you can witness a part of it.

Recreational Opportunities Available

During the visit to Bocas Butterfly Garden, you will pass through a mangrove ecosystem and be able to view this intricate forest.
